We recommend following the AABP Cattle Vaccination Guidelines and Beef and Dairy Quality Assurance recommendations.
The two most important vaccination types for cattle are as follows:
- Respiratory Vaccinations: protection against BRDC (Bovine Respiratory Disease Complex)
- Clostridial Vaccinations: protection against Clostridial Diseases such as Tetanus, Overeating Disease, Red Water, Blackleg, etc.
Vaccinations come in two forms: Modified Live and Killed. Recommendations for specific vaccinations will depend on age, breed, sex, and pregnancy status.
There are multiple castration techniques, each with their own benefits and timelines. We currently follow AABP Castration Guidelines.
Interstate movement of livestock requires a recent health certificate before movement. Each state has separate requirements for movements and those can be found at Interstate Livestock Movement.
